Vanessa is a registered patent attorney and focuses her practice in the procurement and enforcement of intellectual property rights. She has substantial experience providing opinions related to validity, noninfringement, freedom-to-operate, and patentability. She also provides client counseling on issues regarding the acquisition and/or licensing of intellectual property; IP portfolio management, and strategy for IP development. Ms. Owen is a registered patent attorney and has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting, both domestic and foreign, patent applications in a wide range of technologies including: electronics; computer hardware and software; gaming devices; casino gaming systems; medical devices; internet technologies; business methods; financial services; entertainment systems and services; electro-chemical; chemistry, biotechnology; nanotechnology; and mechanical devices.

Vanessa J. Owen received a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia State University and earned a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. She received her J.D. from Ohio Northern University.
