    CRAIG B. BAILEY earned his B.S. in electrical engineering (cum laude) and a B.A. in sociology (cum laude) from Bucknell University in 1975, where he was elected to Tau Bet Pi. He received his Juris Doctor (with honors) from George Washington University in 1978. Mr. Bailey has experience in all aspects of intellectual property, with special emphasis on the litigation and prosecution of patents throughout the world. He has been involved in patent litigation in both Europe and the Middle East, and has represented clients in many patent and trade secret actions before both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels in the United States. He has been active worldwide in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and in client counseling from small start-up companies to major corporations and universities. His practice covers a wide spectrum of technical disciplines, including complex optical and electronic arts. His experience also extends to trademark and copyright matters, and to intellectual property contracts and license agreements.

    Mr. Bailey joined the firm as an associate in 1986 and became a partner in 1989. He served as corporate patent counsel for a major aerospace company responsible for patent litigation, invention evaluation and client counseling. Previously, Mr. Bailey was a law clerk and technical advisor to the Honorable Howard T. Markey, formerly the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

    Mr. Bailey is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia; U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit; California Supreme Court; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. District Court, Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California; and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
