MICHAEL J. MOFFATT received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, in 1986 and his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, in 1992. He earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, graduating in 1995 with honors. Mr. Moffatt was an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward Rafeedie, District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Moffatt worked for six years as a Scientist for Rockwell International's Space Division, where he performed analysis on the Space Shuttle fuel system structural integrity and plume heating effects. Mr. Moffatt joined the firm in 2002 as an associate and became a partner in 2008. Prior to joining Fulwider, Mr. Moffatt was a partner with the firm of Price & Gess in Irvine, California.

At present, Mr. Moffatt concentrates his law practice in the areas of patent prosecution and litigation in the mechanical and electromechanical arts and medical devices. Mr. Moffatt also serves on the board of advisors for the California State University Regional Technology Center, and is a member of the RTC's mentoring committee. He has also guest lectured at several universities on intellectual properties issues.

Mr. Moffatt is admitted to the California State Bar and a member of the Orange County Patent Lawyers' Association, the American Intellectual Property Lawyer's Association, and the Long Beach Bar Association. He is a registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
